65k streams on Spotify, a voice sent from the Gods and an infectious smile to match. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you to the talented Olympia Papageorgiou!
We love her down to earth attitude and honesty. She told us that if you want to pursue a career in music,
“don’t do it for the fame, do it because you love it! “
Olympia is an international singer and recording artist based in Atlanta, Georgia.
She has worked with an independent record label, Qurriculum Global, since 2017 and was officially signed in 2019.
Olympia’s music is a mix of multiple styles, such as R&B and International Pop.
Her first single, Falling Apart, a reggeaton hit, was released in September of 2017. She then released her second single 8th Day, an R&B love song, on her 24th birthday in 2018.

Releasing her biggest single, SALUD, in May 2019, she followed with her first music video for the international audience.
Los Angeles-based blog, BuzzMusic, reviewed SALUD only weeks after its release, which led to Olympia being named “Top 10 Artists of 2019” by the popular blog.
The Lifestyle Times Chief Editor Despina sat down virtually with Olympia to learn all about her journey to where she is today.

Firstly, I love your song Salud! Thanks for your time today
Thank you so much! Definitely one of my favourite songs I have released.
Tell our readers about who you are– Where were you born and what’s your favourite part about being Cypriot?

I was born in Larnaca, Cyprus and grew up for the first 8 years of my life in Ayia Napa! Oh wow, there are many favorite things about being Cypriot! One of them is the strength and perseverance of our people. They are incredibly strong and hold close to their roots.
How’d you get into singing and what began your love affair with music?
I was always surrounded by music because my family is very musical! I have been singing since I was a very little girl and joined choir in school throughout the years. I eventually was connected with Qurriculum Global Record Label while in college and was signed in 2019!

Every artist has their journey. Can you tell us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way?
It has been quite a journey but honestly, I have had a wonderful team to back me up and serve as a protective layer when dealing with difficult situations. There was a time that Salud almost was not released. We faced issues at every single step with Salud. With perseverance and thinking outside of the box, we were finally able to release it! That is just one situation out of many that have caused me to question my own career, my path and singing. We all go through those moments, its just about muting all the noise and keeping it going!

How did Covid-19 impact your career?
Covid definitely impacted everyone. I remember I was in the studio a few weeks before lockdown and we were planning on potentially releasing an EP but decided to hold off. COVID definitely slowed things down a little when it came to recording but luckily I was still able to do things online to promote my music.
What do you think sets you apart from other recording artists?
I always find this question a little hard to answer only because I believe that others probably notice things maybe that I do not. The first thing I can think of from my own perspective is the fact that I am not only a recording artist but also a Doctoral student studying Clinical Psychology. Another thing that I think sets me apart from others is the fact that I use a few languages in my songs and I love sprinkling in Greek where I can!
What’s your advice for anyone who wants to get started in the music industry?
Find a group of people that unconditionally support you and have your best interest in mind. The entertainment industry is difficult to navigate and not everyone is there to help you.
“Also, do not do this for fame, do it because you love it! “
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Well, I see myself graduated and still doing music! I hope that I will have several more songs out by then and definitely more music videos! Whatever comes, I am ready for it!
